Summary
Bay Logics, Inc. is a leading provider of software solutions that manage corporate real estate (CRE) and lease management. The company's lease/property management "desktop" solutions manage more than five billion square feet of space globally. Our client, with the advent of web technologies, was one of the first companies to support the functionality in an online environment. Accordingly, they decided to create a new platform-neutral web application using enterprise web architecture. After evaluating the available resources, budget and time, Bay Logics decided to outsource the project to a company with technical and corporate real estate functional expertise. We emerged as their choice due to our technical expertise and functional knowledge of corporate real estate and lease management requirements.
Challenge
The client's requirements mandated a complex design to support rule-based engine, scalable architecture supporting compatibility with most commercial RDBMS, and cross-browser compliance. A limited budget and aggressive time-to-market added to our challenge of creating an efficient, quality product.
Development Process and Result
The project was broken into distinct and hierarchal functional areas. A technical design was built around each functional specification, allowing multiple tech groups to work in iterative development of the modules. Following the delivery and acceptance of prototype application, by the end of fourth month development of the first phase was complete and our team ensured a seamless implementation by closely working with the client to host a successful demo to the VC community. Impressed with the application, the VC community and client's management entrusted us with the entire development of the product. Consistent and improved communication together with 24/7 support resulted in a delivery of an efficient web-based enterprise application on time and budget.
